Some of our colleagues gave a training course on this recently with ideas on how to maximise the impact of your research. Tools covered include citations in Google Scholar, Researcher IDs and ORCID, PIVOT profiles, online networking with ResearchGate and Academia.edu and social media use.

2009 data has just been released in Journal Citation Reports, the tool which allows you to work out journal rankings and impact factors based on citation data.
You will find JCR at http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/ . Click on the Additional Resources tab to enter the database. (Note that this is a change from its previous location in the Select a Database tab).
Our Making an Impact web page gives more about JCR and other tools for measuring the impact of your research. We will be running training sessions on these tools on 8th July, 11-12 and 21st July 10 to 11am in PC Room 3 in the library. You can book a place by replying to this e-mail.
